Song Of The Liquid Dancing Dress
A Collaboration Between Stolen and Formica

At Stolen, we’ve always been drawn to projects that lie beyond the boundaries of fashion—creative journeys that invite us to explore and express in new, unexpected ways. The #beyondfenix project is one of those dream opportunities. Collaborating with Formica and the open-minded team at Super Structure was nothing short of joyful. Their trust allowed us to venture into something both expressive and mind-bending.

This is one of the rare art projects we’ve taken on that still lives on in the form of a dress. And in this case, making it into a dress felt like the most honest way to express what we wanted to explore and break through.

Titled Song Of The Liquid Dancing Dress, the piece is a conceptual creation made entirely from Formica’s FENIX material fused with fabric. It’s a celebration of innovation, and of an aesthetic that straddles strength and grace.

“I wanted to challenge the typical perception and use of FENIX by stretching this beautiful and strong material’s form and purpose,” shares Elyn Wong, founder and director of Stolen. “Looking beyond its rigid form, the design reimagines the material as having the qualities and movement of water—soft, delicate, dynamic.”

Water has always been a source of fascination for us—how it transforms, adapts, and yet remains powerful in every state. Liquid, solid, gaseous—each form carries its own unique strength and fluidity.

This dress captures that idea. It brings together seemingly conflicting materials, and from that tension, beauty emerges. A duality of strength and flexibility. A reimagining of what even the most unyielding materials can become.

Much like water.
And much like FENIX.
