Stolen has always been very proud to be a Singapore brand. But it is not often that we get to feel THIS patriotic. Being the chosen outfit for Linying at the Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s swearing-in ceremony! We are overwhelmed by the delight, pride and talent of our Singapore gem Linying as she performed her beautifully-written ‘The Road Ahead’ in a Stolen Kyra dress. We are immensely proud and blessed to call ourselves Singaporean.
It not only gives you the sense of belonging, but also a sense of pride and intimacy. To create music that can stir a nation is not easy, but “The Road Ahead” did it for us. What indeed lay on the road for LinYing in her life or artistic journey as a Singaporean? What had built her up or challenged her? Perhaps many of us share journeys similar to hers? We all share the pride of being part of a strong and secure nation, and we share the tensions of an ever changing society.
